HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—The U.S. hotel industry reported lower performance from the month prior and weakened comparisons with 2019, according to November 2022 data from STR.
November 2022 (percentage change from November 2019):
- Occupancy: 59.4% (-3.2%)
- Average daily rate (ADR): US$144.46 (+15.2%)
- Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$85.74 (+11.4%)
Among the Top 25 Markets, New York City experienced the highest occupancy level (79.0%), which was down 8.8% from the market’s 2019 benchmark.
Markets with the lowest occupancy for the month included Minneapolis (51.2%) and St. Louis (52.2%). San Francisco reported the steepest decline in occupancy when compared with 2019 (-21.8%).
Reflecting continued improvement in business travel and groups, the Top 25 Markets showed higher occupancy and ADR than all other markets.
