STR: U.S. hotel results for week ending 19 December
HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—U.S. weekly hotel occupancy decreased slightly from the previous week, according to the latest data from STR through 19 December.
13-19 December 2020 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):
- Occupancy: 36.8% (-26.4%)
- Average daily rate (ADR): US$85.50 (-21.9%)
- Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$31.45 (-42.5%)
The industry also surpassed one billion unsold room nights for the first time on record.
Aggregate data for the Top 25 Markets showed lower occupancy (34.9%) but higher ADR (US$90.00) than all other markets.
Among the Top 25 Markets, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida (45.4%) saw the highest occupancy level.
Top 25 Markets with the lowest occupancy levels for the week included Oahu Island, Hawaii (21.6%), and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota-Wisconsin (23.9%).
