Certification in Analytic Essentials (CAE)

The Certification in Analytics Essentials is an abbreviated version of the popular CHIA with a focus on critical skills for hotel managers and practical techniques to improve property performance. The certification is targeted towards current or aspiring general managers or department managers. A comprehensive training package is provided to enable companies to include the CAE in their GM training so that participants can leave with an industry-recognized certification. 

The CAE includes the following sections:

• Hotel Industry Analytical Foundations – Players in the hotel industry, Geographic and Non-Geographic Categorizations
• Introduction to Benchmarking – What is Benchmarking, What is a Competitive Set and Creating and Changing a Competitive Set
• Introduction to Hotel Math – Raw Property Data, KPIs, Date Definitions, Comp Set KPIs, Indexes and Ranking Data
• Property Level Benchmarking with STAR Reports - Benchmarking Monthly Data, Benchmarking Weekly Data and How to Improve Property Performance using the STAR Report

The CAE certification is US$150. A workshop fee may also apply. The exam is 30 questions – multiple choice with a 60-minute time limit.  A minimum score of 70% is needed to pass the exam.
